According to the province on the 9th, large-scale exhibition halls and experience-based tourism infrastructure are slated for completion in Hongseong, Yesan, and Cheongyang counties by the end of the year, marking the start of a major push to attract tourists.
Firstly, with an investment of 7.6 billion KRW, the Sokdong Observatory (Hongseong Sky Tower) is being constructed on the beach in Seobu-myeon, Hongseong County. It will be completed and start operations by the end of this month.
The Sokdong Observatory, a 65-meter-high tourist tower offering views of the West Sea, will be the tallest observation tower along the Chungnam west coast.
The province anticipates that the completion of the observatory will attract 1 million visitors annually.
Next month, the "Spicy Chili Experience Land" will be completed near Chilgap Lake in Daechi-myeon, Cheongyang County, focusing on chili-themed experiences.
The experience center, a six-story building offering chili and agricultural experiences, is expected to attract more tourists due to its connection with the Cheonjangho Suspension Bridge.
In the second half of the year, a 70-meter-high large-scale tourist observatory and a farm center will open near the Yedang Lake Suspension Bridge in Husari, Eungbong-myeon, Yesan County. Additionally, a pension complex next to the observatory is set to be completed by the first half of next year.
Once these facilities are fully operational, they are expected to become another major tourist attraction, following the popular Yedang Lake Suspension Bridge.
Song Moo-kyung, Director of the Provincial Culture, Sports, and Tourism Bureau, stated, "We will focus administrative efforts to ensure the smooth development of tourism infrastructure. We aim to leverage our excellent tourism resources to attract more visitors during the Visit Chungnam Year."
